I’m Claire. Nice to meet you.

I get my kicks out of designing services that are refreshingly easy to use, while making the most of technological innovation and creative concepts. I also pride myself on making beautiful, engaging documents that stakeholders love to understand, own and share.
I enjoy creating really good websites and apps, but I also have a real passion for working on end-to-end service design; going back to basics from the moment the customer or user thinks of engaging, all the way through their lifecycle with an organisation. I always make sure to build a bit of the latter into the former whenever I can. I love to get inside peoples’ heads – really understand their motivations – and help organisations build digital products and services that are worthy of their time.
I realise I don’t know everything there is to know about UX, so I make a point of reading books, completing courses and absorbing as much knowledge from my colleagues as possible. I’m CIPD qualified and try to bring my understanding of training methodology to the work I produce. I’ve studied acting at – and still act with – The Questors Theatre in Ealing; which either means that I use Stanislavski’s technique to ‘get inside the mind of the user’, or I’ll invite you to my next play (possibly both).
My main career highlight to date is the creation of a design concept for the Bupa Health Finder app while working as a training consultant, which led to the creation of 3 Bupa-made apps: Bupa Fitness, Bupa Health Finder and Bupa Smart Runner. I was part of the design team for these, and was offered a position in the Bupa Group eCommerce team. It was because of this that my career changed from training to design.
I have designed for Bupa Group, Vodafone Group, blinkbox from Tesco, Transport for London, Land Registry (as part of GOV.UK), Jaguar Land Rover, and various other clients.
